Happy World Ocean Day!

Everyday should be World Ocean Day. I wish for the day when more people know the real value of our ocean and how very important it is to our daily lives.

Below are some facts about our ocean.
It's easy to forget the critical role the ocean plays in human life. The salty water of the ocean covers more than 70 percent of the Earth's surface. Ocean plants produce some 50% of the planet's oxygen. Seawater absorbs a quarter of the carbon dioxide we pump into the atmosphere. And seaweed extract helps keeps your peanut butter and ice cream at the right consistency!

TGIF

I wanted to have our presentations (with the boss) done early today so that I wouldn't be thinking about it anymore for the rest of the day. However the boss is quite busy with his other commitment so he moved out meeting/presentation this afternoon. Ah the agony of waiting instead of just feeling carefree.

Excuse the technicality of this photo. I just couldn't wait for it to be O-VER.

On another news, DENR is conducting its annual beach/coral reef clean-up in observance of the National Month of the Ocean. My lab mate and I were invited to participate by one of our friends/colleagues who happen to be one of the organizers for this event. But I am still on the verge of giving up my slot since this will be on a weekday! But I really want to participate! I want to be of help to our seas, in whatever form it may be. I'm still crossing my fingers, toes and legs that the boss will grant me permission to have a 2-day leave.

Anyway, life must go on. Can't hardly wait for weekend.

Ad majorem dei gloriam.
