SCUBA Skydiving

Sky diving + SCUBA diving = A double shot of adrenaline. You fly then take the plunge! One of the craziest videos I've seen to date. Who would have thought you can do both extreme activities at a time. Check out this freakin' awesome video.

P.S. This video gives me more reason to love GoPro :D

SEAS the day

What else do you think are you contributing to our seas aside from the trash that we constantly produce?

When I first saw this video, of course my instant reaction was "Aww..", because I found it awfully cute for a dolphin to act so humanly in front of those divers. But in the end, I found this video disheartening since it obviously shows people's negligence. This stricken dolphin was entangled by a line/cord of some kind, still with a hook, from a fish net, and was asking a diver for help. The more reason for us to be mindful of our actions especially managing our wastes. Our ocean is a vast home to many living creatures in the planet. Even a lot of people depend on it for food, livelihood or even as plain recreation. Let us love and save our seas. Make your move. SEAS the day.

TGIF

I wanted to have our presentations (with the boss) done early today so that I wouldn't be thinking about it anymore for the rest of the day. However the boss is quite busy with his other commitment so he moved out meeting/presentation this afternoon. Ah the agony of waiting instead of just feeling carefree.

Excuse the technicality of this photo. I just couldn't wait for it to be O-VER.

On another news, DENR is conducting its annual beach/coral reef clean-up in observance of the National Month of the Ocean. My lab mate and I were invited to participate by one of our friends/colleagues who happen to be one of the organizers for this event. But I am still on the verge of giving up my slot since this will be on a weekday! But I really want to participate! I want to be of help to our seas, in whatever form it may be. I'm still crossing my fingers, toes and legs that the boss will grant me permission to have a 2-day leave.

Anyway, life must go on. Can't hardly wait for weekend.

Ad majorem dei gloriam.

Thank heavens for a beautiful Wednesday. Have a sunshine-y morning everyone! =)

One book a month

I personally didn't believe in New Year's resolutions. I mean lets face it, every year since 1st grader, I make long list of resolutions but its just too hard for me to keep up with. So 5 years ago, I stopped with my list.  But on New Year's eve last year, I thought of changing this one thing in me. It ain't bad to keep going again with my resolutions after all. And one of the lessons Ive realized was to make them simple and doable.

On top of my list, is to read more books and for Pete's sake, finish it. Yes to more reads, may it be novels, short stories, scientific articles, etc. The key here is balance. The reason why I had a hard time finishing a book and read less books in the past years is because I was busy with work and other stuff and if I had spare time, Id rather sleep, spend time with family/friends or go to the mall. But hey, everyone and anyone can be busy and its really all up to you to make room for other things. We are in control of our time. This is one of the things I needed to revive in me. For the longest time, I missed being in bed with a good book. Which brought me to the idea of (at least) one book a month. I know it doesn't give much justice since a month is quite long to finish one book. But the thing is, being a simultaneous Marine Researcher and masters student, I guess the "one book a month" will do (at least for now). And since I am serious with this resolution, I decided to buy myself as birthday gift, an e-book reader. Thus, I have no more excuse not to read. And for guiltless reading, I established myself to read scientific articles in the lab/office  during the day, which would be helpful for my work and thesis, then on to my favorite novels at home. =)

So far so good. I'm now on my 7th book. Yes, I know I'm 2 books ahead. I took advantage of my summer. =)

P.S.

I started reading Robert Jordan's fantasy series, The Wheel of Time as suggested by a good friend of mine and Im liking it so far.

Its all about perspective

My love for the sky has grown deeper and stronger each time. Thank you Lord for giving me the opportunity to witness beautiful scenes like this. We are beyond blessed.

Let's get physical

I don't play any sports, I don't have any. I only play the local games we usually play in the streets when we were kids. I am also one of the audience who scream their hearts out to cheer for our favorite team. I dont know, it was never even in our blood to be involved in sports. We (the kids in our family) are more involved in other things like music and drawing, to name a few.

But maybe Im not the only one. MSI, the Institute where I work, had its annual Sports festival last Friday May 17. And my heart jumped a little when I found out most of the games were local games where everyone can participate, otherwise I'm bummed.

I joined almost every game in the morning, and this photo became an instant favorite since I look like a legit runner although this was just a dodge ball (aka dancing ball) game! :)) I only have a few photos of me running or being physically active, plus, we won this game so yay!

Maybe today

I have been on the blogosphere for a while now but its on a different blogsite. Aside from that, most of my posts are photos because of the fact that procrastination wins most of the time. Its been forever since Ive thought of blogging, share some of my stories, speak up my mind in writing. Come today, when I finally thought of making a "serious" one. No, dont be afraid, as I am not as serious as you think. Maybe the word here is: Decent. Yes, decent posts.  I have been stalking reading/following a number of blogs for a while now, may it be friends', celebrities' or anonymous blogs of my interest.

The idea of re-creating a blog started a week ago when I chatted with a friend of mine on Gmail. We talked about music, and kindle stuff then blogs. She then asked me if I personally have a blog. I lied about it a little (oh white lies) and told her I have none. Although, that blog of mine isn't really a "true" blog if you may call it, because aside that its more of a photoblog, I also did not  want to advertise it. Well its just me, for some reason. I wanted to have a low profile (chuckles). Its like a "secret blog". But then it hit me. Why not have one? A decent one. Why not? Maybe today is that day that I go back to writing or web logging again. Oddly, I am actually getting quite excited for this new endeavor of mine.

I am hopeful that I could sustain this blog. Well I actually have a strong feeling that this time, its different (So help me God). =)

Cheers!
